March Collector Club Newsletter Sneak Peek!

The March CC Newsletter has been posted early! Inside is a sneak peek!

The popular guess is that it is the Classic Gamblers Choice model! I hope it is, so I can save my wallet! Maybe we won't have to wait too long for the reveal.

Mini Fireheart Has Arrived!

After a long awaited arrival, Mini Fireheart is now here!

The quality is very good for a stablemate, a masking issue around his forelock, and a dark spot on each side of his barrel.

He has beautiful striped hoofs. He even has dapples! While very subtle, they seem very well done!

Ukraine Benefit Model!

Breyer has decided to put a test run on eBay to benefit Ukraine!

100% of the proceeds from the auction (and a company match) will go to "various aid organizations" supporting the relief efforts!

I am so glad that Breyer is doing this!

A beautiful glossy blue on the Emerson mold!

He is supposed to be a large version of Lancelot, a Collector Club 2019 release. I really like the color on this mold, unfortunately he is already way past my budget... (more than $10k already!)

Here is a link to the auction:

Ukraine Benefit Model

Update: He sold for $11,400!

New Sites To Help Identifyyourbreyer!

After the unfortunate passing of Janice Cox, some collectors are helping out and making new websites for the models made/released in 2021 and 2022!

Here are the links along with descriptions of the sites:

identifyyourbreyer.weebly.com

"This site is intended as a temporary site with the intentions of being merged with the original Identify Your Breyer once the estate is settled."

bmhrneta.ipower.com/IDYB/2021new

bmhrneta.ipower.com/IDYB/2022new

"The following models are Breyer releases for [2021/2022].

Currently the main Identify Your Breyer site is unable to be updated so we are temporarily supplementing it from this site. Please note that this is not an official IDYB page and we will only be listing the models released during [2021/2022] on this page until the Identify Your Breyer site is able to be updated again at which point these supplemental pages will be taken down. Please refer to the Identify Your Breyer site to see any 2020 and older releases."

My Honeybear has arrived!

After a week since placing my order, Honeybear has arrived!

He is a super cute model! He has a very sweet face :)
He has a few factory flaws, but nothing I will complain about. This is the first model I have bought on this mold. I love it! Super chunky, draft goodness. I especially like the way the mane and tail were sculpted! :)

I was very pleasantly surprised that he didn't have any masking flaws around his pinto markings, since they are so jagged! I also noticed that his eyes look a little funny when looking at him from the front... not a big issue in my opinion. :)

The only major problem that I had about him, is that he doesn't really fit into my shelving unit... I don't have any other drafts to display him with. I mostly collect stock-type horses, with light and sport breeds sprinkled in.
I decided to display him with my two Stone ISH's, since they have a similar pose.

Maybe Breyer should slow down the number of releases on this mold for a while, it's had so many, and it's only a little over two years old!

New Web Special(s)! Robin and Nestling are here!

The next release Breyer's Birds of a Feather series is here! It's a mare and foal duo!   Robin and Nestling!

They are limited to 500 pieces, and cost $185 (plus shipping/handling)!

The price seems a little steep to me, maybe because they are vintage and less popular molds.

Anyways, good luck to those who enter! :)

*The deadline to enter is 11:59pm EDT on 3/13/2022*

Vintage Club Cooper

As Cooper is arriving to Vintage Club members, people are discovering that he has the stamp of a mysterious lottery run model! The stamp says, "Kingfisher 2022"!

I guess we know what the next Birds Of A Feather series model is going to be! Could Kingfisher be the sneak peek that was on the February Collector Club Newsletter?

Another important question- will Kingfisher have a Cooper stamp?!

February Collector Club Newsletter Sneak Peek:

I'm a bird lover, so I love the idea of a kingfisher on a Breyer model! The sneak peek doesn't give much info on what mold it will be. I honestly hope it is a mold that I dislike, so I won't go through heartbreak when I'm not selected to buy it...

Introduction!

Welcome to my blog! This will be my first post, so I wanted to share a little about me :)

I mainly collect Breyers and Stones. 1:9 and 1:32 scale are my favorites to collect. There are around 50 traditional scale models in my collection at any given time. For the stablemates… there’s no good way of counting them- they multiply too fast! ;) I plan to post a picture of my main shelving unit annually, to see the progression of my collection!

Customizing models is a lot of fun for me. Am I the best at it? No, but I’m improving after each model that I paint! Photo showing is another thing that I love to do with my models. OMHPS is my favorite showing site, I’m also a judge there!

This blog will mainly be model horse news (mostly Breyer), customs (and the process of making them), and other miscellaneous hobby related stuff. I try to post as regularly as I can, and model horse news is generally posted the same day that it comes out! :)
