A New Custom!

 It took me almost four days of nonstop work to make this guy, but it was worth it!

He was originally a unicorn, but the horn was clipped off and sanded down. The seams and logo were also sanded.

I decided to make him into a black overo. I used Baldy as pattern inspiration.

Here's an ugly stage. He looked like a brain a few layers before this, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it.

This is where the color started to come together.

A few layers later, he's looking good!

The basecoat ended up being a little too watery, so it went underneath the masking tape. I made him a sunbleached mane and tail, and it turned out really well.

I etched the paint away, and cleaned his markings up. During the etching process, he suffered some damage.

I was able to repair him, add pinking to his nose, and paint his eyes and hooves. I feel like I could have done the hooves better (especially the dark one), but I think they're decent.

He is now finished! All he needs now is sealer. I really enjoyed painting again. I've had a long break since my last custom, but I have drastically improved.

My favorites of the four are the appy and the bay. The bay's coloring reminds me of a horse I used to know.

I love the mold, but not the color. It's not my cup of tea, but he seems like he's going to be popular!

Breyerfest Rotating Draft Surprise Full Reveal!

Breyer has finally revealed the surprise numbers!

Just my luck, my favorite is the rarest. The 2nd hand prices are going to be crazy now. I wouldn't have thought of him as a blue roan, interesting idea, Breyer. 

I looked it up and the color actually matches pretty well to the real counterpart.

Breyerfest 2022 Haul!

 All of my models have finally arrived!

Out of all the (obtainable) Breyerfest models, Brahms has to be my favorite by far. I really like two of the SMs from the set as well (Croi and walking thoroughbred).

Special Run Variations!

Breyer posted the SR breakdown today!

Lӓndler is the matte/glossy split! 1,150 made for each finish.

Marzipan is a color split! 1,100 made for each color.

I think many people were expecting more variations. Last year's SRs almost all had variations. My theory is because the theme was Horse of a Different Color, they wanted to make it special with some colorful models. Normally they do the extra variations just for anniversaries. 

The one difference from this year, is that there was no mane/tail splits. I bet they will alternate color and mane splits each year.

Later this week they will reveal the surprise numbers!

Brahms

 Ever since Breyer posted the reveal, I absolutely needed him!

He's gorgeous, and doesn't have very many flaws at all! Especially with how many models are getting major issues lately. This is the first Big Ben that I've owned, and I think the mold is awesome. He has a very sweet face.

He has cute little spots on his ears! 😍

I'm very excited for this theme! Hopefully we'll get a good selection of breeds for this Breyerfest! I assume the Premier Club Standardbred is going to be used. 

I wonder who the Celebration Horse will be?

I love, love, love this mare. Finally, a premier model that I like.

It actually looks like a nice color and a good mold, she's going to be a keeper! I'm super excited for this release. Maybe we can get Zafirah out of the way first.

Breyerfest Live Auction Models Continue!

 Silly me, I thought all of the Live Auction models had been revealed.

These guys are awesome! My favorites are Astrid and Hamilton. Both have beautiful coloring.

Some better pictures of the raffle models. I'm not too sure about the Arabian's mold now. Looks a little weird to me, but I need to see it in person to make up my mind.

I love him so much more in gloss. Too bad he's not obtainable. The glossy version makes me appreciate the mold a lot more.

Today reveals the last of the auction models!

I love Fireheart's markings. I bet he's going to go for a lot. Bristol's colors are awesome!

It looks like Esprit is a test for Enchante (Totilas SR from BF 2015).

Overall, the auction models are amazing (as always).
